One of her fun little habits at naptime/bedtime is to completely undress herself, diaper and all. I told Rob I would have a nervous breakdown if I had to clean up one more crib full of poop. (It’s too bad I always freak out when I see it and immediately put her in the bathtub before I take pictures. Those would be fun to show her boyfriend when she gets older.) I had to figure out some way to keep her dressed.

Walking in every 5 minutes to re-dress her and tell her “no-no” didn’t seem to work, so we safety pinned her zipper and the little flap that covers it.  When I went to check on her she was sound asleep, her cute little naked bum in the air and two open safety pins in her bed. Yikes! How did she do that? Then we found someone online that put their child’s pajamas on backwards. Brilliant! Why didn’t we think of that? Well, we had but couldn’t figure out what we would do with the feet. Duh! Put the feet on right and twist the leg.

The first few days she got her arms out the head hole but would get stuck and frustrated. I think she realized that wasn’t any fun and she wasn’t getting them off because she stopped trying. Thank goodness! We now sleep fully clothed and diapered.

One thing about Halle this year…she LOVED Santa! She was a little shy of him the first time she saw him, until he gave her a candy cane. Then they became friends for life! She would walk around everywhere saying “Santa Clause Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Missmas!” Every party we went to she couldn’t hardly stand to wait until her turn to sit on his lap. She was also always hugging and kissing all of my Santa decorations. I was worried that when we put them away she would be devastated. No worries though, she replaced him with a snowman for now. Poor snowman is a mess from being mauled and his carrot nose kissed! We’ll see what happens when February comes and he is gone too. Silly little girl!

Rob was also very excited about his new binoculars. I bet you couldn’t tell! I got a Clarisonic Mia! I love it too!

Santa brought Halle a Laugh & Learn purse. She apparently thinks keys go in your mouth. He brought Jayci a unicorn Pillow Pet. She has wanted that for 2 years now. And Corbin got a Captain America mask and shield. He is the best super hero out there!

Jayci, Corbin, and their BFF’s! I’m sure my kids drive these poor girls crazy but they just love them! I do too. They are so good with kids and they are amazing girls! I need to talk to their mother and get some parenting advice because whatever she did she did right!

Hales Family Party (Rob’s Dad’s Family)

We went to Zoo Lights. It was fun but COLD! We ate dinner there, went and saw the lights and then went back in for cookies and hot chocolate. Yum!

Grandma & Grandpa brought each of the kids a new Zhu-Zhu pet puppy.

The kids played a game where they had to try and unwrap a present with oven mitts on. It was fun!

My Mom’s Christmas Party

For their big presents Halle got a little doll crib and a new doll. Corbin got a dragon castle, and Jayci got an “American Girl” doll and some clothes for her. They are spoiled rotten.

Since the party was on Christmas Eve Santa made a special stop and dropped off some jammies for everyone. The kids were very excited that he found them.

Halle did get slippers too, she just wouldn’t wear them.

Grange Family Party (My Dad’s Family)

I only got one picture at this party. Rob was too busy playing dodge ball and I was too busy talking! But we had lots of fun! I did get a couple video’s of the kids torturing one of my cousins and running around like crazy people. This is a great party for the kids to get all of their energy out.

Bridges Family Party (My Step-Mom’s Family)

The only pictures I got were of the kids playing with the stacking cups. They thought it was great fun and built a fort. They were proud.

We also got to go to the Fire station for dinner with Rob’s family. We got to eat in the bay with all of the fire trucks and ambulances and they had Santa ride in on a fire truck. The kids thought that was awesome!

We also made gingerbread houses before Christmas but forgot to take pictures of them until after. We let the kids decorate them all by themselves. I think they did an awesome job.

When we were getting ready to go to Disneyland in May I was trying to make the kids an autograph book. I wasn’t sure how many pages I should put in it so I was looking online to see about how many autographs we were likely to get while we were there. There was a website with a list of the characters often seen and one of them was Duffy the Disney Bear. I had never heard of him before so I was asking Rob if he had. He hadn’t either so he started Google-ing it and found a few pictures of some bears that were called Pre-Duffy Bears. Funny thing was they looked exactly like a stuffed bear we had and they were selling on eBay for around $1,000. We couldn’t believe it! We kept meaning to take some pictures and sale ours but just never got to it. When Christmastime came around we decided it would be nice to have a little extra money around so we took some pictures and got it posted. It sold for $840. Thank you Rob’s ex-wife for the nice post-surgery present you gave him all those years ago. It will make for a nice Christmas around here!

While we were taking pictures a couple of buffalo came up over the hill right where we were sitting (just as we had all got posed and ready). We had to all get down and walk up to the car. The kids were terrified but it was kinda cool. Then they walked through the background of a few of our pictures.

Also, if you were worried that the kids totally cooperated I assure you they didn’t. Halle had a fever and regardless of the treats we kept trying to bribe her with she was not happy to be there at all! We are lucky we got a couple good shots of her.

Rob made Corbin a Buzz Lightyear costume. The wings flashed red and green and it had a red light for the laser beam. It was pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself. But it probably took Rob about 80 hours to put together (and he says I am a perfectionist).

I made Jayci’s costume. She was a beautiful Belle. It didn’t take nearly that much time but it still took enough. I wasn’t present for the photo shoot either or she wouldn’t have gum in her mouth and the dress would have been straight! Haha!

I also made Halle’s. It took a whole 10 minutes or so but she made a darn cute butterfly.

Next year we are definitely buying costumes!
