Catching up with the Tag’s

Comment on this post! 1 Comment »

I have never done any of these Tags that go around in the blogging world. I decided when I first saw them that that was not what the purpose of my blog was so I was not going to participate. I would save those kinds of things for e-mail. Well, I keep getting tagged and I feel bad when I don’t do them. I’ve also noticed that I love to read them on other people’s blogs. I love to learn new things about people that otherwise probably wouldn’t just come up in conversation. So, I am going to do a Tag! Or 2, or 3. To catch up a little.

This one I was tagged by my wonderful friend, Jen.
Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

So, here we go!
1. I am always comparing myself to other people. I worry if I am doing an ok job as a mom. I worry if my house is as clean as my neighbors and friends. If my yard is up to par. If my kids are happy. I don’t ever feel like I am doing as good as I should be.
2. I don’t like cleaning. I used to think I did but I’ve found it’s just the cleanliness I enjoy not the chore of doing it. Maybe I used to enjoy it better when there wasn’t so much to do too!
3. I am a night owl. I could stay up all night if I didn’t have to get up with my kids in the morning. Rob and I are usually up until around 2 am every night. We keep saying we will go to bed earlier but it just never happens. I think we just enjoy our time together after the kids are in bed. Even though they go to bed at 8:30 I am so lucky that they sleep in until 8 or 9 everyday.
4. I love my sisters! We do pretty much everything together. I pray that someday my kids have the same relationship with each other that I do with my sisters. It’s the best! I don’t know what I would do without them.
5. I am a horrible liar. I’ve tried lying to my husband about things like Christmas Gifts or something and he can always tell I’m lying. It’s frustrating. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to lie.
6. My husband thinks I am an extremely picky eater. I don’t agree. I know I am a little picky but not anymore than most.

This one my neighbor Heather and my wonderful friend Heidi tagged me.

Carving Pumpkins

Comment on this post! 3 Comments »

This year we had some of my sisters and my mom over to carve pumpkins. It was so much fun! We all drove down to Kaycee’s in-laws to pick out a pumpkin. They have a huge pumpkin farm. Then we came back to our house and had a carving party. By the time we were done it looked like a pumpkin had exploded in my house. What a mess! Rob thought he would try to be creative and carve a picture of Corbin’s face in his pumpkin. I thought he was crazy. When he was done we were all making fun of him because it looked absolutely absurd. We started calling it Frankenbaby. It was pretty funny. So he decided he should carve another one to make up for the dorky looking one. He finished his second carving and decided to put a light behind it so he could really tell what it looked like. It looked a lot better with a light behind it. So then he thought even though his other pumpkin looked retarded he would put a light behind it too just to see what it looked like. We were all amazed to see that it almost looked exactly like Corbin! I guess that is what we get for making fun of him. It’s crazy that you can carve something like that and have it look so silly and then put a light behind it and it looks awesome. I think it turned out pretty darn cool!

A Get Together With Friends

Comment on this post! No Comments »

I’ve been trying to plan a get together with my friends from high school forever but with as busy as our summer was it just never happened. Finally we got together! It is so fun to hang out with them, I love them all to death! It is so fun to see our kids play together now too! It’s hard to keep in touch with as busy as life gets. So hopefully we will make this a tradition and do it every month. Can’t wait to see all of you guys again! Thanks so much for coming! I only got a couple of pictures because I was too busy being social. But here are a few!
