Holy cow! It has been a long time since I have posted anything. Thank goodness my sweet husband has been picking up the slack. Since I last posted we have had 3 birthday’s at our house! Jayci’s was first. She turned 3! It truly is sad how fast your little babies grow up! It’s just a good thing the older she gets the more fun she gets! Her birthday party wasn’t until the next day so for her birthday we went to dinner at Applebees. They sang Happy Birthday to her and the whole time she had her head down being shy. Silly girl! The next day we had a swimming party at her Grandpa’s house. It was quite stormy that weekend but cleared up right before the party. It was still a bit cold because Grandpa’s pool heater had broken (he forgot to mention that when I asked if I could plan a pool party in Sept.) But we still made the best of it. She got all kinds of fun toys and lots of new cute clothes! She is a spoiled little girl! Her uncle Wes lives in New Jersey but the two of them share some bond none of us will ever understand. He didn’t just remember her birthday but he shipped her a present and had it here the morning of her birthday. You should have seen the grin on her face when the package at the door was for her instead of daddy! Also, her aunt Kaelani decided it would be a good idea to give her a goldfish because she always loved feeding hers. She said it would be easy to care for because she had one for more than a year and never hardly took care of it. Let me just tell everyone, a goldfish is a bad idea for a 3 year old. It ends up being mommy and daddy’s responsibility and mommy doesn’t like fish! I thought since we had the darn thing we might as well do our best with it. 5 days after Jayci’s birthday I looked in the tank and saw the poor little fishy dead. I didn’t want to tell Jayci because the day before that she was saying that her fish better not ever die because he was her best friend. So, we sent her outside to play and I ran to Walmart. I bought 3 more fish and when I got home we told Jayci we had bought her fish 2 new friends. She was so excited and said he was happy now that he had some friends. Not even a week after that another one died. We were trying to figure out what we might have done wrong. We had bought all kinds of things for these dumb fish. New filters, bubble rocks, plants, food, water purifying thingies or something like that. We could not figure out what we could be doing wrong. This time I decided to just tell Jayci that one of the fish had died. She was a little upset at first but then I asked her if she knew what you did with fish that died, she said no and I proceeded to tell her that you get to flush them down the toilet. No more sadness! She thought that was the coolest thing ever! So her and daddy went and she got to flush the poor fish down the toilet. Another few days and another one dies. We were down to one so I went back to Walmart and got two more. All this time still trying to figure out what we could possibly be doing wrong. Slowly one by one the rest of the fish died. We killed 6 fish in less than a month. That has got to be some kind of record. I still don’t know why they didn’t live but I give up! I guess we are just not fish people. Jayci is ok with that. Thank goodness. That was the most expensive birthday present Jayci has ever got. She also got a pretty cool present from her Aunt Wendy and Uncle Peeps (that is what Jayci calls him). They got her a cat, it was much better than the fish though because it is one of those FurReal Friends. It looks just like a cat. It meows, hisses, and purrs just like a cat. But you don’t have to feed it, clean up it’s poop, or accidently kill it! Yay! I can handle this kind of pet. Here are some pictures from her big day!
Next was Corbin’s birthday! My little baby is 1 already! Holy cow how time flies! We threw him a little party at our house. For 2 days before his birthday he was running a fever of 104. I had taken him to the doctor and found it was an ear infection causing it so we got him on some antibiotics and hoped it would be gone before his big party. This ear infection has been a nightmare. We can’t seem to get rid of it. We are on our 4th antibiotic so hopefully it works this time! Unfortunately his fever wasn’t gone by the time we had the party. He was a miserable little boy. Trying to play along and open presents and eat his cake. He had a few happy moments but for the most part he was just feeling crappy. Poor little kid. It didn’t help that his very not-so-smart mom planned his birthday party at nap time. Clearly I was not thinking –well I was, but I was thinking about the weather not nap time. He was spoiled too! He got tons of clothes! I am not exaggerating. I noticed there was a huge stack there so out of curiosity I counted them. He got 24 shirts and 17 pairs of pants. Holy cow! He is going to be the best dressed kid in town! That isn’t counting the 6 pairs of pajamas, socks, 2 pairs of shoes, and a jacket. He got a few fun toys too, which is good. I think he is sick of playing with his sisters dolls and pretend make-up. Here are some pictures from his big day!
Last, but not least, it was Rob’s birthday! We had a camping trip planned for that weekend and we ended up leaving on the night of Rob’s birthday so we didn’t really get to do much. He worked all day and then we spent 3.5 hours in the car driving. He had an awesome birthday dinner at Artic Circle. It doesn’t get better than that! I had gotten him a cake and had some ice cream in the trailer he didn’t know about so when we got there we pulled it out and had some cake and ice cream. It was the least I could do. Hopefully this weekend we can find a babysitter and go on a date to really celebrate his old age. He got the new 3G iPhone for his birthday. I was ok with that because now I have his old one. He is like a little kid with a new toy. He is constantly playing on that thing. I’m just glad he likes it. Here is the self portrait Rob had to take on his phone with his cake. I will be posting about the camping trip soon (hopefully!).
